Local verification ensures that decisions are based on verifiable state rather than trusted intermediaries. This enables direct coordination between machines that may belong to different operators or administrative domains. Devices can validate permissions, pricing rules, or operational conditions locally and execute interactions deterministically, even in environments with intermittent connectivity or without continuous backend supervision.
* **Micropayments and Usage-Based Billing**\
  IoT devices perform or receive payments for services such as energy, bandwidth, data access, or physical resources. Payments are verified locally and executed autonomously within predefined constraints. This allows devices to participate in fine-grained economic interactions, including pay-per-use and time-based billing models, without relying on centralized accounting systems or trusted intermediaries. Settlement correctness can be verified independently by the device, enabling autonomous operation across provider boundaries.
